About Me
My name is Nathan Cowley, I am a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington. I study History with a minor in African American Studies. My focus is in cultural history particularly post emancipation America. I was born and raised in Columbus Ohio then later moved to Denton Texas where I attended high school. For the last three years I have lived in Arlington were I attend college. I am set to graduate with a Bachelors in History and a minor in African American Studies as well as a minor in Political Science in Spring of 2026.

As I have gotten closer to graduation I have had the opportunity to get involved in several programs. During Spring of 2025 I worked as a Intern for the Center for Southwestern Studies on their inter ethnic violence project. I also joined a UTA cohort in visiting Washington D.C. to speak with several Representatives about the challenges higher ed is facing. I am currently part of the NSF-REU program Mapping Freedom at USM where I am studying historical letters from the civil war and reconstruction era.
